So for example, in the following verses we read:
GENESIS 1, VERSE 1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
In Hebrew:
In the beginning 'elohiym created the heaven and the earth.
DEUTERONOMY 6, VERSE 4
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD:
In Hebrew:
Hear, O Israel: The LORD 'elohiym [is] one LORD:
JOB 4, VERSE 17
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
In Hebrew:
Shall mortal man be more just than 'eloahh? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
What do the Arabic speaking Christians and Jews call God?
Christians and Jews who speak the Arabic language use the word "Allah" to
refer to The God in the Bible. The word "Allah" is used in the Arabic versions
of the Bible (in the Old and the New Testaments) replacing the word "God" in the
English versions, and so of course in place of the word used to refer to
The True God in the Aramaic and Hebrew versions.
Examples from the Arabic Bible:
GENESIS 1, VERSE 1
In the beginning Allah created the heaven and the earth.
DEUTERONOMY 6, VERSE 4
Hear, O Israel: The LORD Elahuna [is] one LORD:
JOB 4, VERSE 17
Shall mortal man be more just than Allah? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
ST. LUKE 18, VERSE 19
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, Allah.
In conclusion, the Hebrew word "'eloahh", or "'elohiym", the Aramaic word "AaLaH", and the
Arabic word "Allah" are one and the same word, in root and in meaning. The One True God chose to be
called "Allah" in His revelations of the Bible and the Qur'an, and on the
mouth of His true messengers, Moses, Jesus, Mohammad, and others of His true
Prophets (Pput). So, if a global word to be used for The One True God,
no matter what the language is, it should certainly be what His
prophets called Him!
The Torah is Allah's revelation to Moses (Ppuh), the Gospel is
Allah's revelation to Jesus Christ (Ppuh), and the Qur'an is Allah's
last revelation before Judgment Day, revealed to
Mohammad (Ppuh), and sent to the worlds, a mercy from Allah to all human.
Until we meet again on another subject, Allah willing, may Allah always make us from
His true believers, and the true followers of all His true messengers, Amen.
THE QUR'AN 59, VERSE 23
Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign,
the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith,
the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme:
Glory to Allah. (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him.
THE QUR'AN 3, VERSE 3
It is He Who sent down to thee (Mohammad), in truth, the Book (Qur'an), confirming what went
before it; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel before this.
THE QUR'AN 3, VERSES 45 - 48
45. Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honor in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah. 46. "He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. And he shall be (of the company) of the righteous." 47. She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth: When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is! 48. "And Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel,
THE QUR'AN 5, VERSE 68
Say: "O People of the Book (Christians and Jews)! ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Torah, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord." It is the revelation that cometh to thee (Mohammad) from thy Lord, that increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. But sorrow thou not over (these) people without Faith.
